im elisabeth, 13 year old girl who lives in the rocky mountains. i am a photographer, dancer and a lover of God. He is the reason that i love photographing the beauty of this earth and the reason i dance.  i try to glorify Him through everything i do. i love sunrises, but am often too sleepy to get up and watch them. i have an obsession with shoes and clothes and editing my photos. i am in love with brownies and tumblr and mint green and coral are some of my favorite colors, along with light grey. i dislike donuts and plain black coffee, but really like sweet coffees from starbucks ;) if you like this guest post then you can follow along with my blog and tumblr too :*  feel free to email me as well if you have any comments!

sunrise in the east

it was dark, one of those rare occasions when i did get up early enough to see the sun wake up.
we were getting up at five am to hike up a nearby mountain and watch the dawn.
as we drove off i could see venus shining bright in the early morning sky; i could watch the the light of the stars for hours on end and never get tired. as we got to the base of the mountain we saw a big black bear walking right in front of us. I've always kinda liked bears for some reason, but i don't think i would want one following us up the mountain! so we all decided to do a different hike, and one that was a little shorter since we still wanted to catch the first rays of sun.
i always find it interesting how quiet it is at that time; everything seems to be waiting.
as the clouds started turning from light grey to pink, then lavender, the sun slowly started touching the highest mountains and reaching for the farthest clouds. since you all now know I'm a photographer, then you can probably guess i was taking photos this whole time, but it's also important to put down the camera for a little while and just watch, think, and listen. it feels like you're the only ones awake, and that if you're too loud or too hurried, then it will all fade away.

i think that God may make sunrises beautiful and so early so that those who care the most, and are willing to lose time in bed, will see the most incredible and glorious thing that they will ever experience. the most incredible experience, that is, until the day when God comes and takes us home: to our real home.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Psalm 19:1

  2. Sunrises are one of the biggest blessings God has given us, I am convinced of it. It is a lovely reminder of each new day and that He creates beauty for us to enjoy.

May I ask for your [honest] opinion?

via Alrighty. I recently just completed my one hundredth blog design order [insert celebratory balloons, glitter cannons, and thrown pies here]. ;} And I was talking to my mother about this in the car, to and from the store. Basically, what she said was; "You've been doing your designs for a long time, right? So why don't you start charging for your services?" This got me thinking, and in my eyes, I feel as though charging for my designs would probably make me feel like I'm getting cocky, and too proud of my work, yah know? But I wanted to ask you guys, my honest readers; do YOU think my services are worth spending money on? Like seriously. If you wanted a new design would you choose me, even if it cost you ten dollars? I know most of it is just a matter of opinion. Every designer has their own way of doing things. Their own unique style. It all depends on what the "order-er" wants. I'd like to know if I have the capabilities of giving s...

Clothes Don't Apply--In The Summer

via  | enjoy this random photo of the ocean. No, it's not that kind of post. But I sure bet the post title caught your eye. ;) Ahh. Summer. It is here my friends (or it was...now everything is just cold and wet -.-). And as it rolls in--knocking Spring to the side--so does the heat. And thus my wardrobe drastically changes from sweatshirts and leggings to large (borrowed) shirts and shorts. It's also time to pull out the razor and shave away my still attached winter coat. -.- ^ something cute I wish I could wear. ^ *cough* Anyways. Summer. Lots of heat but also, lots of free time. My mother has decided my summer project is to learn how to drive. (Oh...yay... *sobbing consists in background*) And I hope to hang out with Kenz. But we'll see how June 6th goes. Also, I'm planning on getting lots of writing done, AND looking into (advanced) CSS and HTML for Blogger. AAAAAND I will hopefully take a writing class over the course of a few weeks. Maybe . I don...
"Look," she breathed, studying the sky. " Oh , look... Do you see it?" He looked down at her, his eyes twinkling like the many stars above. "Yes..." "Isn't it beautiful?" "Yes...yes it is..." She looked back at him, meeting his gaze. They were both thinking the same thing, and they were both scared of it. She ducked her head as his eyes moved away, focusing on the ground and the stars and the distance between them. + + + Oh, the fragile doubts of these teenage souls. Why is it that they fear each other? Why is it that they must disregard their feelings? Their emotions? All I can say is; be brave. Take a leap of faith. Because there is a chance it will work out.
